KIDS CONNECTION

Kids Connection is a place where kids from birth - 6th grade make faith connections in a safe, fun and encouraging environment.  All children are welcome and helped to grow like Jesus did:   In wisdom by learning the truth of God’s Word.  In favor with God by giving them an understanding of who God is and a passion to seek His will.  In favor with man by building relationships with others in our faith community and being Christ-like in their interactions and sharing God’s love with all people.  We connect all this to the Gospel message so each child will know their need to have a personal relationship with Jesus.  

In Deuteronomy 6, the Bible tells us that parents are the primary disciple makers of their children. At FSBC Lawrence, we hope to connect with parents to help build on the foundation being laid at home. Our Sunday morning and Wednesday night programs will support you and provide experiences to help your kids develop a life-long faith. Through the Faith@HOME program you have access to an age-appropriate pathway of milestones to guide and encourage you as your children grow in their faith.

Your preschoolers will begin to discover who God is and how much He loves them. They will develop friendships during guided playtime. Each week they will be engaged in an age-appropriate Bible story, games, and songs that connect to a simple truth. Monthly at home activities are provided so you can continue helping your child learn.

Our elementary age children enjoy learning together! Each morning begins with a fellowship time where kids can make connections and share about their week. Our leaders use the WonderInk curriculum to guide each lesson. Your kids will experience a Bible Story and discussion, music, object lessons, a blessing, Bible memory challenges, games and special Pancake Sundays. Each week, kids will be reminded that: They are known by God. They are loved by Jesus. They are led by the Holy Spirit. They are children of God and their lives can tell of His Wonder! 

Care for children from birth through PreK is provided in two classrooms during the service. Each week, trained volunteers play, sing, rock, and read with kids giving parents the opportunity to focus on worship. If the weather permits, kids will often get to play on our playground. Snacks are also provided. Of course, your children are welcome to attend the worship service with you, if that is best for your family.

While your children are in our care, safety is a priority. All of our staff and volunteers have passed background checks and completed a child protection training. Our check-in system provides allergy alerts and other information about each child to our teachers. It also helps insure that only an approved guardian may pick up a child. Security measures are in place throughout our building.

We have a consistent and experienced group of volunteers who work with all children on Sunday Mornings and Wednesday evenings, as well as at special events. Your children will have the same Bible Study teachers each Sunday morning and the same TeamKid and Children in Action leaders each Wednesday evening. They are committed to serving children and most have been sharing God’s love and encouraging kids to walk with Jesus for many years. Kids feel comfortable and make connections that will help them grow in their faith throughout their lives.

We use a school year calendar and promotion schedule, with kids moving to new classes in August. We use age-appropriate curriculum with a focus on seeing how God’s Big Story all fits together and points to Jesus as our Savior. On Wednesday evenings, 1st – 6th graders participate in Children in Action, a missions centered program. Preschoolers play and learn with the TeamKid curriculum.
